What Is the GACE?
The Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE)is the official state-approved educator certification assessment program required for anyone seeking to teach or work as an educational professional in Georgia's public schools (PreKโ12).
The program is overseen by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) and has served as Georgia's required certification assessment since September 1, 2006. Effective July 1, 2025, all GACE testing moved from ETS to Evaluation Systems, Pearson (ES). All new registrations are handled at gace.es.pearson.com.
All GACE assessments are aligned with state-approved educator preparation standards, national standards, and Georgia's Pโ12 curriculum frameworks. The specific exams required depend on your grade level, subject, and intended role. Passing a GACE assessment does not automatically grant certification โ candidates must also be recommended by their approved educator preparation program (EPP) and meet all other GaPSC requirements.
